Jay-Z & Alicia Keys Gear Up to Perform for the Yankees Series Opener

Earlier today, Jay-Z appeared at a press conference at the Plaza Hotel to promote the new DJ Hero game. While he was there, he confirmed to MTV that he and Alicia Keys will be performing their smash single “Empire State of Mind” before the first pitch is thrown. This is oh so appropriate, and definitely gives us another reason to watch the game!

Think he’ll get booed when he says “I made the Yankee hat more famous than a Yankee can”? You know the Yankee fans don’t play.

Ms. Jackson is back to buisness!

Janet Jackson is coming back and she is ready to let these little girls have it! If you have noticed, Janet has been taking a little break from music after her not so successful “Discipline” album, but is planning a big media comeback. She is currently shooting Why Did I Get Married 2 and plans to release an autobiography dealing with the trials and tribulations of her highly publicized life. This will all follow the release of a big comeback album, that won’t have ex-boyfriend Jermaine Dupri involved.

We think the passing of MJ is definitely going to inspire Janet to do something great. Life is too short to dwell on old stuff. Go Head Miss.Jackson!

Out and About: Steve Stoute at Blue Ribbon

Earlier this week, media mogul/music; advertising executive, Steve Stoute, was seen in Yonkers with Mary J. Blige, cutting the ribbon for the Mary J. Blige Center for Women, and last night, we spotted him again while grabbing a bite at Blue Ribbon Sushi. Nowadays, Stoute seems to be most known for being Jay-Z’s business partner in Translation Marketing, but he was also Nas’ on and off again manager for quite some time.

For those that don’t know, the Blue Ribbon Restaurants (Blue Ribbon Sushi and Blue Ribbon Sushi/Bar & Grilll) are to die for, and several celebrities and fabulous New Yorkers can be spotted there on any given day.

The Tesla Group Slated to Rep Pop-Rock band "Kronez"

If you haven't heard about new Pop-Rock band "Kronez" then you don't know what you're missing. Kronez, who's eclectic intermix of rock and hip-hop edge has created a new hard hitting sound capturing the music industry and music fans alike. The South Florida based band includes Kyle Carlin-lead singer, guitarist Steve Fiction, Luan Pernia-keys, Jon Rush-drums, and Danny Wyler-bass.

Kronez along with multi-platinum producer Chad Beatz who's vision of pushing music's envelope future forward is seen as well as heard in Kronez wild single “Lady Livin” poking fun at reality contestants who compete to win love with a Rockstar. Lady Livin is just the beginning to the new sound that Kronez is bringing to the forefront of music. Songs such as “Forever” continue with Kronez upbeat antics, hip-hop base lines, turntables, and instrumentation, is almost like a mash-up of the “Gorillaz”. HAPPY HOUR: Friends with Benefits

“So where exactly am I going with this?”

If you’re a female, you’re not allowed to ask questions. Wouldn’t want to get your “friend” or whatever we’re calling him today, upset. You’re not allowed to catch an attitude when he flirts with other women and after sex, you’re not allowed to lay on him or do anything that signals you’re hoping this ”situation” could be something more. If you’re a male, congratulations. She trusts you now at least, a lot more than she did before she let you in. (Pun intended) You have all the benefits of being a boyfriend without all the typical girlfriend nagging.

You have an obligation to no one but yourself because well, you’re single. And you love being single. She’s taking her cues from you now. Games of hot and cold. Sometimes I’ll call you sometimes I won’t. But when you need her, you’ll expect her to be there for you. Front and center. When you’re feeling emotional (as guys sometimes do… Don’t front) you’ll want to fall asleep in her lap and ramble on about your horrible week at work. She takes whatever you’re willing to give because after all, this is what she signed up for.

Most of the time, women want more out of the “friendship” but they’re willing to settle for you and your fear of commitment as well as the fact that you enjoy the air of mystery hovering over your relationship status. Ladies, save the pet names for the relationship. Don’t refer to him as your popsugar muffin if he doesn’t deserve all that creativity.

Does a “Friend With Benefits” situation really benefit both people involved and who is more likely to get hurt, the man or the woman? Hmm…
